Charles Dimry

Owner

Charles Dimry, owner of Pro Prep, graduated from Oceanside HS where he lettered in football, basketball and track. A college prospect in football and basketball, Charles chose to pursue football as a defensive back at UNLV. Charles was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the 1988 NFL Draft and spent his first few years in the league playing opposite Deion Sanders. From Atlanta he went to Denver where he played in the AFC Championship game before losing to Buffalo. Charles’ next stop was Tampa where he had the privilege to play alongside Martin Mayhew, Hardy Nickerson and John Lynch on a defense coached by Tony Dungy, Herman Edwards and Lovie Smith. While in Tampa, Charles won the NFL’s Ed Block Courage Award for his off the field accomplishments. Charles was happy to finish his career in San Diego where he joined high school friend Junior Seau on the NFL’s top rated defense and was twice voted the Chargers’ Most Inspirational Player. Since retiring from professional football, Charles enjoyed coaching collegiately with former teammate Jim Harbaugh and doing guest commentary on various radio and television shows. He can most often be found on the sidelines somewhere with his wife Erin, cheering on one of their six children.

   

Doug Hix

Doug Hix is the “west coast training expert” according to ESPN.com. His vast and varied athletic training experience has motivated him to become the best in the world at athletic performance enhancement. Hix has been training professional athletes since 1996. He has trained players from the NBA, NFL, MLB,NCAA. His players include over 70 drafted athletes, numerous NCAA All-Americans, a Pac-10 player of the year, a Heisman trophy winner and runner-up, and an Olympian.A graduate of Pittsburg State University in Kansas. Hix became a three time All-American as a sprinter in track, and a record holding football player as a wide receiver. During his final two years at Pittsburg State, he spent much of his spare time using himself as a training model as well as preparing players for the NFL. This provided him with a head start on the athletic performance enhancement profession. Hix tells his athletes anything you do; I have already done, so I know what you are experiencing. His diversity of skill and experience gives him a unique perspective on athletic training

 

   

Todd Williams

Director of Coaching, Certified Personal Trainer (ACSM) ,Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)

In addition to numerous NFL athletes, Todd has trained players from the MLB, NBA and MLS as well as rising tennis pros. Todd is a native San Diegan who earned a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State University after playing high school basketball at Sweetwater High in San Diego. Todd brings a wealth of knowledge to the athletes he trains having previously worked as an orthopedic technician for two orthopedic surgeons where he assisted in surgeries and participated in pre- and post-surgical consults.. Todd is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a certified personal trainer (ACSM).

   

Jay Herbert

 

Jay Hebert has over 8 years experience as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.  Jay serves as the Sports Performance Director at Velocity’s 4S Ranch facility and coordinates the Pro Prep at Velocity program at that location.  Prior to joining Velocity, Jay worked as Director of Operations at Fitness Quest 10 where he had the opportunity to train notables like LaDanian Tomlinson, Carson Palmer and Drew Brees.  Jay has served as a performance consultant for coaches, organizations and teams across the country motivating, training and educating athletes for superior athletic performance.  Jay has also served as a spinal cord recovery specialist in the emerging field of exercise based recovery for individuals with spinal cord injuries. 

Originally from New York, Jay graduated from SUNY with a degree in Kinesiology.  He continued his athletic career after college as a hockey player with various NHL organizations.
