Charles Dimry - Owner

Charles Dimry
Charles Dimry, owner of Pro Prep, graduated from Oceanside HS where he lettered in football, basketball and track. A college prospect in football and basketball, Charles chose to pursue football as a defensive back at UNLV. Charles was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the 1988 NFL Draft and spent his first few years in the league playing opposite Deion Sanders. From Atlanta, he went to Denver where he played in the AFC Championship game before losing to Buffalo. Charles’ next stop was Tampa where he had the privilege to play alongside Martin Mayhew, Hardy Nickerson and John Lynch on a defense coached by Tony Dungy, Herman Edwards and Lovie Smith. While in Tampa, Charles won the NFL’s Ed Block Courage Award for his off the field accomplishments. Charles was happy to finish his career in San Diego where he joined high school friend Junior Seau on the NFL’s top rated defense and was twice voted the Chargers’ Most Inspirational Player. Since retiring from professional football, Charles enjoyed coaching on Jim Harbaugh’s staff at USD and doing guest commentary on various radio and television shows. He can most often be found on the sidelines somewhere with his wife Erin, cheering on one of their five children.

Doug Hix
Doug Hix is a “west coast training expert” according to ESPN.com. His vast and varied athletic training experience has motivated him to become the best in the world at athletic performance enhancement. Hix has been training professional athletes since 1996. He has trained players from the NBA, NFL, MLB & NCAA. His players include over 70 drafted athletes, numerous NCAA All-Americans, a Pac-10 player of the year, a Heisman trophy winner and runner-up, and an Olympian.

A graduate of Pittsburg State University in Kansas, Hix became a three time All-American as a sprinter in track, and a record holding football player as a wide receiver. During his final two years at Pittsburg State, he spent much of his spare time using himself as a training model as well as preparing players for the NFL. This provided him with a head start on the athletic performance enhancement profession. Hix tells his athletes anything you do; I have already done, so I know what you are experiencing. His diversity of skill and experience gives him a unique perspective on athletic training.

Todd Williams
In addition to our NFL athletes, Todd has trained MLB players including John Rodriquez, NBA veteran Richard Jefferson, and rising tennis pro Coco Vandeghwe.Todd is a native San Diegan who earned a Bachelors degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State University. Todd attended Bonita Vista and Sweetwater high school where he played basketball for two seasons. He continues to this day to participate in basketball recreationally. After College, Todd worked as a personal trainer and then decided to go into the medical field. Todd worked as an orthopedic technician for two Orthopedic Surgeons in Oceanside, California. There, Todd assisted in a number of orthopedic surgeries and applied casts to injured patients. Todd is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a certified personal trainer (ACSM).


Mikhael Ricks - Coach

Mikhael Ricks
Mikhael was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the 2nd round in 1998, where he played for 3 seasons as a wide receiver. He was then signed by the Kansas City Chiefs and played 2 season there as a tight end. In 2003, he started for the Detroit Lions where he became a Pro-Bowl selection. Mikhael finished his career with the Detroit Lions in 2004 after a knee injury sidelined him and he retired. Mikhael was born in Anahuac, Texas, a small town with a population of 1,350 people. Situated 45 miles east of Houston, Texas, Mikhael played football, basketball, baseball and ran track. He received numerous awards such as All-State honors in football and basketball, MVP as a high school center in basketball, and placing third in State in the long-jump with a school record jump of 23’11”. Mikhael graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX where he played 4 years of football and 2 years of basketball. He became an All-American as a wide receiver and holds numerous records such as longest touchdown pass and most touchdowns in a season. He was voted Southern Football League Offensive Player of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year after suffering a separated clavicle and blowing out both his right and left ACL. Mikhael was also selected as MVP of the Blue-Gray game played on Christmas Day and selected to play in the North vs. South All-Star game. He also gets to enjoy his hobbies of playing golf and basketball.
